Who we are and what we do
We are a not-for-profit social enterprise combining growing and selling fresh cut salad leaves whilst working with disadvantaged groups of individuals from in and around Cardiff.
We are located in Bute Park, one of the most central parks in Cardiff, using a greenhouse within The Walled Garden to grow our produce. This location is fantastic as it means that people can access the project without the need for a car. We make all salad deliveries to restaurants in Cardiff by bicycle – a truly sustainable business.
We grow a range of salad leaves all year round for continuous harvesting. These mixed baby leaf salads are picked to order, high quality, and unique, and are available to restaurants in Cardiff all year round. Restaurants can commit to a weekly standing order for salad; deliverable on set days throughout the week.
In addition the garden is used to run gardening sessions educating people about food and developing horticultural skills, indirectly working on confidence building, improving social skills, language and promoting positive mental health. We work with asylum seekers, refugees and individuals with mental health problems, but also other disadvantaged groups from within the city.
